access to sqlserver database from web

Hi
I do not want to install SQL server client on every user machine.
I want to give users access from browser to the sqlserver 2000 database.
Is it possible?
I saw sqlserver webadministrator?
From the name it looks like a administration tool?
Thanks

Access to sql server

I am writed handreds page in my wwwroot use Access Database, and I install a SQL server yestoday,What should I do after move my database to sql server .
thanks! With the Access Database you are probably using OleDbDataAdapters and OleDbCommands. With SqlServer you should use SqlDataAdapters and SqlCommands because they are more efficient. The syntax between the two is very similar so mostly you'll just need to change the class names (OleDbxxx to Sqlxxx).

If you're using any Access specific Sql commands you will have to modify them for SqlServer. For example Access uses "IIF(x,y,z)" while Sql Server uses "CASE WHEN x THEN y ELSE z END".

access to SQL from non-domain PC via Enterprise Manager

I have a developer on contract which will use her laptop to work, laptop is
not part of the domain, we install SQL tools on it and now I need to give th
at person access to one of our SQL databases, so I created sql user and then
try to register this serve
r on her laptop in Enterprise Menager but getting error “server is not run
ning or you do no have an access to it” how do bypass it? I have not pro
blem to register this server in Enterprise Manager on my PC using same sql u
ser but my PC is part of do
main, any idea?Make sure they are using TCP/IP to connect. You can force this by setting up
a client alias using the Client Network Utility. Also, try connecting using
Query Analyzer rather than EM and specifying tcp:servername in the
connection dialog to force it to use TCP/IP rather than Named pipes

Access Project with MSDE2000

Hi Gurus,
I've got a question when using Access Project with MSDE2000. I can properly install MSDE and connect a Access Project with master database, but I can't create table or modify table structure, is there any thing wrong?
My os is XP, and Access 2000.
Thanks in advance
You probably dont want to be creating tables within the master db anyway.
When you load Access, chose 'Project (New Data)'. This should allow you to
create your own db, which you should be able to create tables in...
Cheers,
James Goodman

sp_denylogin and sp_revokelogin only work with Windows NT users/groups and
not with SQL Server logins.
anyway, you can not disable "sa" login..
I know folks that renamed it directly in sysxlogins system table, but this
is not very polite :D , nor is supported..
the standard way to "disable" it is to assign it a random generated 128
chars password, so that no one knows it..
