Accessing ASPNETDB from outside web application

Hi there,

I have a slight problem. I have a web service running on my server. In this, I need to access values in User's profiles. The problem is of course, that Profile, ProfileCommon, ProfileBase, etc... are not available to me here.

What can I do?

Is using an SQL command best? If so, could someone post an example SQL command - I am getting confused by how to structure the command, since I need Membership data like UserName, and Profile data (an object serialized as binary in the Profile).

Kind regards,

kreid

Hi Kreid,

To share the ASPNETDB to another application, you will need to attach the database to an instance of SQL Server. Then change the connection string of both applications to point to that database.

Hi Kevin,

I'm having the sampe problem even though I have my ASPNETDB in an SQL-server. After thoroughly checking the interfaces, and forums, there is apparently no way to access the Profile from a console application. Certainly, I can do a LINQ query and get the Profile properties string and values string from the ASPNETDB, but then parse them myself etc.? There must be a better way? Any tips/examples out there?

Thanks!

Richard

Access to Table Cells (Textboxes) Outside the Table

Hi,
I have two tables and would like to base another textbox aggregate
(outside of both tables), on the aggregate result cells from each
table. I don't think this is possible, but if anyone knows how please
let me know.
Table A (using DataSet A)
Table B (using DataSet B)
I want a textbox with an aggregate (Sum) which equals: #1) a Textbox in
Table A (which is a group aggregate) + #2) a Textbox in Table B (which
is another group aggregate).
Thanks,What you should do is set it to an expression and use the expression builder
and base it on an aggregate of the dataset aggregates. I.e. the sum of the
two sums.

query parameters. It all worked great except (for one record queries)
but there is a significant problem: For each record in dataset A, I
need to show a table based on dataset B and another table from dataset
C. I originally was using a list item for dataset A with two embedded
tables (using the other datasets). I was having difficulty and then
discovered that you cannot nest data regions that use different
datasets - doah! What is the best way to overcome that limiation? Can
you nest subreports?
The only other option I see is to get all of the data from one dataset
and use subqueries that return the aggregates.

access table body row from textbox using reportitems collection

Hi

I need to access value of perticular row that is populated in table component from a textbox outside table.

When you are saying particular row, i think you should be knowing the rownumber of the table.

Why can't you have a seperate dataset some thing like t

select top {row_numer} col_name from table1

take the last value from this dataset. leave the main dataset

I wish you might have got some idea with this push

Thank you,

Thanks for your kind consideration.

This solution is convinient if we have one or two cells in which we need to fetch data. But I have a report in which 40-50 such fields are there. And to create a dataset for each row would be tiresome job and not optimal. I was looking at some solutions in direction of

ReportItems collection. I am not sure wether we can get data from data section of table ie except header and trailer.
